Leading Change Through People: Innovation, Mission, and the Right Structure (Workforce Cohort – October 2026)

"We're going through the same things, just in different seasons of our organization's history."

That's what leaders in our Agency Capacity Builder - Workforce Cohort keep discovering: sit at the same table each month, and your toughest workforce challenges turn out to be shared ones.

And the ideas are not staying in the room. A stay interview first tried with one team was picked up by HR and opened to the whole agency. Ideas from these sessions are showing up in leadership meetings and conversations with the executive leadership team.

Two agencies brought challenges that, underneath, were about the same thing: leading change through people. One asked how to give staff room to innovate while staying anchored to a mission built over decades. The other asked what a small, expert-led organization needs around its people in order to grow. The responses came from many angles. Stay rooted in the core mission and innovate around it. Build the operations capacity that frees leaders to focus on partnerships. Test a new role as a proof of concept before committing to it.

Thank you to SamaraCare Counseling (https://www.samaracarecounseling.org) for hosting us. Their team welcomed the cohort and introduced us to staff on site, in a space thoughtfully set up for the good work they do every day.
