Thrilled to share key insights from the latest Nonprofit Leadership Advisory Forum (goodworksresults.com/advisoryforum), held around a dining room table at Wildwood Commons in Elgin, IL. This capacity-building program provides a robust peer network for nonprofit leaders serving Hanover Township residents (hanover-township.org) .
Yesterday’s session focused on challenges faced by middle managers, with impactful takeaways including:
- Practical ideas for managing on-call duties and educating teams on crisis handling.
- Strategies for setting boundaries and navigating frustrations in leadership roles.
- The continued value of the “balance wheel” exercise for self-audits and identifying areas for growth.
A huge thank you to our host Association for Individual Development – AID (aidcares.org). Their Wildwood Commons (24-unit permanent supportive housing) and Wildwood Trace (50-unit affordable housing) exemplify dignity-building, wrap-around services. AID case managers and therapists on-site provide crucial advocacy, counseling, and case management to residents with mental, developmental, or intellectual disabilities, or those experiencing chronic homelessness and poverty, fostering stability in a supportive community setting.
