We’re living in a season that feels heavy—uncertainty, tension, challenges that seem beyond our control. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed about how to move forward.
Recently, someone asked me a thoughtful question: “How do you want to show up in this season?”
Not how should I show up according to someone else’s playbook. Not what role do I need to perform? But genuinely—who am I, and what am I designed to do best?
For me, I show up best when I create space for leaders to think clearly, build capacity, and not feel so alone. That means:
- Asking questions that unlock new awareness—helping a business owner see beyond their current capacity, or coaching a leader through a complex decision.
- Building bridges—connecting people with the right resources, linking nonprofit leaders across organizations, championing partnerships that create momentum that could not be generated alone.
- Creating environments where people learn and grow—whether that’s facilitating conversations or serving on boards where I can contribute to youth services and community mental health.
- Supporting leaders at multiple levels—from founders navigating growth, to mid-level managers carrying weight without enough support, to community organizations strengthening their impact.
I can’t solve every problem. But I can show up faithfully in my own sphere—as a mission-driven partner who sees potential and helps advance it. The encouragement I’m holding onto? “Let us not become weary in doing, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
What about you? In this challenging season, what are you designed to do best? Where can you bring the most value and goodness to others?
